BAYADA accepts and works with a large group of health insurance and other payors across the country.

Many clients use their health insurance benefits for coverage. We have specialists who can handle all the paperwork, contact payors to determine coverage, and bill the appropriate plan directly. Our goal is to give you peace of mind by simplifying the process. For any care not covered by insurance, BAYADA bills for services at an hourly rate. The exact rate varies based on region and the type of services provided. To get an accurate quote, find the office nearest to where you need care and contact them. That office will help you find out if the services you need are covered by insurance or another benefit.

Medicare

Medicare

Medicare is the US government’s health insurance program for people 65 and over, persons defined (for social security purposes) as "disabled" for at least two years, and certain other special cases.

Home health care services are generally 100 percent covered by Medicare when qualifying conditions are met.

Visit medicare.gov for more information.

Medicare Advantage / Part C for Home Health Care

Medicare Advantage plans were previously called Medicare+Choice plans.

This add-on program gives you more choices and extends benefits beyond the original Medicare plan. It includes private Medicare Advantage plans, such as HMOs and PPOs.

Nearly everyone with Medicare Part A (hospital coverage) and Part B (medical coverage) is eligible for a Medicare Part C Advantage plan.

Medicaid

Medicaid is a state government health insurance program. It provides medical assistance to people, including families and children, who meet income requirements.

If you have Medicaid, contact your state provider to see which services your specific plan covers.

Workers’ Compensation

If you suffer a work-related illness or injury, workers’ compensation may cover some or all of your home health care costs.

Your employer or their insurance pays for medical treatment during rehabilitation and recovery, or for permanent disability.

If your employer is uninsured, you can usually apply for medical benefits to the state's Uninsured Employers Fund (UEF).

Private Health Insurance / Employer-provided Insurance

Depending on your policy and coverage, your medical insurance (such as Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Humana, and others) may pay for home care services.

BAYADA coordinates and accepts payment from many health insurance payors in the country. This includes workers compensation, auto insurance, employer and consumer plans, and more.

Healthcare Exchange Marketplace

Individuals who don't get health coverage through work or state programs can get insurance through the marketplace.

Coverage varies by plan - contact your provider for details. BAYADA will review your options to help you understand what your particular plan covers.

Veterans Benefits for Home Health Care

If you are a US military veteran, you may be eligible to have the government pay for medical treatment, personal care, and assistance at home.

Veteran’s benefits cover a wide range of services including:

  • Long-term care

  • Home care

  • Nursing home or facility care

Eligibility is based on your treatment needs and the availability of services in your area.

Other factors, such as VA disability status, other insurance coverage, and/or ability to pay may also be considered. BAYADA will help you navigate and understand your options.

Long-term Care Insurance for Home Health Care

A long-term care insurance policy is one that will pay for care at home, in an assisted living community, or a nursing home. It is bought by an individual and pays for help with activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.

Most policies have limits on how much or how long they will pay out benefits. Some policies also have a waiting period before benefits kick in. During this time, the cost for care would be paid out-of-pocket.

Long-term care insurance policies can be complicated, and our experts can help you get the most out of yours.

Private Pay for Home Health Care

If you choose to pay for home health care services out-of-pocket, BAYADA may offer payment plan options.

Cost varies based on region and the nature of services provided. For the most accurate rate quote, contact the local office serving your location.
